We greet you with a sense of pride and humility as Chairperson of the Virgin Islands Board of Nurse Licensure for the calendar year 2002-2003. I realize the challenges this role brings and I will work to improve the Board’s visibility in the nursing community. There are many exciting things happening in all levels of nursing locally and nationally. I look forward to participating in many of the goals the Board intends to achieve during the next year.

I also wish to thank Governor Charles Turnbull, for the opportunity to serve a third term on the Board of Nurse Licensure and the members of the Board for their vote of confidence in me. I urge nurses to attend our meetings which are open to the public in order to understand the regulatory aspect of nursing and to serve voluntarily on our ADHOC Committees because your support is very important.

Remember to practice safely, competently, and renew your nursing license by early December 2003.
